10 more things to be happy about.

1. Book Club
A few of the book club ladies out on the town.

Are you sick of hearing me talk about how much I love book club yet? Peter Lamb thinks I'm a total lame-o for being all about book club, but that's just because he has no idea what kind of crazy funny sh*& we talk about!! Plus, if he tasted the homemade mac & cheese and bomb chocolate chip cookies that were served, he would get what all the hype is about. Couple that with wicked smaht ladies & Rebecca's hilarious stories and you get: a winner.

2. Handmade throw pillows.

I already loved my couch a whole lot (ask D), but these new pillows from etsy have brought my couch love to a whole new level. Really.

3. Team Croatia

On Wednesday I jogged around Greenlake behind this guy wearing a Croatia jersey (??) and if I could have caught up to him, I probably would have ripped it off his back. This jersey brought me right back to my bachelorette weekend last summer when we broke into an impromptu game of charades at Ryan's winery (sorry Ry). Team Crotia was stacked with Katrina, Josie, and I so of course, we stomped the competition. The other team was so liquored up they didn't even notice we were cheating! Until now I guess.

4. Spring wedges from Target (Tar-jay).
26.99 are you out of your mind?? Not only are these shoes adorable and affordable, but also very comfy! Now I can't wait for the new 'poor man's designer' collections from Eugenia Kim (hats) and Cynthia Vincent (shoes) to be unveiled at Target on on April 18th! Anyone want to join me on a trip to Target on Sunday?

5. An extra week to study

I was stressing BIG TIME about the impending doom that is my licensure exam this weekend until my trusty cohort informed me on Wednesday that I am actually signed up for next week's test. Holy hell. Somebody get this girl a functioning planner! A 400 lb weight (in the form of a biggest loser) was thankfully lifted off my shoulders. I have all weekend to study so I won't be a complete basketcase when I show up to take this B of a test.

6. Obama stands up for Gay & Lesbian couples. Finally.

My main squeeze Obama didn't turn out to be the raging liberal everyone predicted him to be, right? That's actually a-ok with me, but ignoring the rights of Gay & Lesbian couples is not. So way to go Barack, for ordering hospitals to extend visitation rights to whomever a patient designates.

7. Not getting what you want, but getting what you need.

As my charming Canadian father would say, I got "hosed" this week. I won't even go into the details because I don't want to sound like a sore loser (even though I am) but let's just say that my work situation got turned upside down this week and forced me to take a good long look at what I want/need to do with myself next year. I thought that I knew for sure what I needed but I realized this week that it was just what I wanted... and it was kind of a mess. Getting the rug pulled out from under me made me step back and look at things a little differently... and thankfully, I have reemerged with a clearer head and a greater sense of the balance I want in my life next year. So the moral of this story, Dad? Sometimes it's good to get hosed!

8. Cohort comedy

My cohort has been like my family these past three years. They know (literally) everything about me (yikes, right?) and it's crazy for me to think that in just a couple of months many of us will be going our separate ways. Here I am getting all choked up already... but that's not why they're on my happy list. They made the list this week because our conversation in internship class on Wednesday delightfully morphed into hilarious banter and outrageous laughter just like the old times! It was just what we needed. Thanks foolios.

9. Salem Pride

It's not often that I meet people from my hometown who are actually cool and proud to be from Salem. Like the dude from Miro Tea that I just learned (15 minutes ago) went to McNary high school. He covets my 'I heart Oregon' necklace, listens to whiney music, and wears a cute little fedora while he makes tea. Get on with your hipster self buddy! What a hometown hero. Meeting people like this makes me wanna say, "See guys! Salem is cooool!"

10. Rebecca's haircut
(picture stolen from Rebecca's facebook page)

This girl was already ridiculously gorgeous and then she goes and gets this haircut that just won't quit. Rebecca, you are cute as heck and your milkshake brings all the boys to the yard!

Sidenote: I'm sitting in Miro Tea, half studying for my exam and half writing this blog, when I notice the girls next to me are studying for an Organic Chemisty exam (remember those days Katrina & Amanda?). I let out a deep sigh of relief... at least my test isn't as hard theirs.
